The Art of The Oasis

OMG, I have been obsessed with all types of scents these days…

Not only can scent be a powerful tool in meditation; it really makes a difference in a room. Aromatherapy can help you bring a little bit of serenity into your home, giving you the time to reflect on how you’re living and why. It is also an empowering way to manifest your priorities. Here are some of my favorite techniques for succeeding peak peace through scent.

Essential Oils

An ancient way to bring peace into your home, citrus scent like lemon and orange can have an uplifting effect on your mood, encouraging creativity and positive thinking. YES, please, I’ll take some of that!


Dry a potent mix of flowers and collect them in a bowl or sachet. To increase their effect, add a few drops of your preferred essential oil and bake them in the oven to infuse them with the fragrance.


Burning incense sticks or cones can inspire clarity and peace of mind, especially with an aromatic scent of tradition.


An accessible and powerful tool, candles create dynamic experiences. They are also easy on your eyes and tea-lights jars can be repurposed. Candles come in a variety of scents and intensities and can be layered over one another if you burn two at a time.

Sage and Palos Santo

I like to burn sage to cleanse my aura and benefit from its healing properties. You can even light up palo santo. Both these practices have been performed by native and indigenous cultures for centuries-to keep you grounded. They both keep bad energy at bay and can evoke powerful scent memories.
